Anne (Coulter) Holmes

Thank-you for your postings of the Marquis family ancestors. You will find some i.e. William & Benjamin Mark (both born in Offaly, N. Ireland) were listed as mariners on the Lloyds of London records. A few other derivations of the name Merks, Merques, De Marcus. Found link to origins in Spain. William Mark's daughter Mary Jane, was my 2nd grgrandmother and married William John Coulter of Antrim, Ireland in 1850.
