NOTES:
From work done by Michael Pavilaitis in 1999. Source poorly and incompletely documented. Attempting to verify and validate 2020. Anything hereafter will be confirmatory detail.
BIRTH:
See 1870 US Census source, enumerated in July of 1870 that says she was 5-months old then and had been born in Canada. 5-months old December of 1870 would suggest month and year of birth as approximately February or March of 1870.
See 1880 US census source that says she was born in Canada and 10yrs old in 1880.
EMPLOYMENT:
MARRIAGE:
Record of "Malvina's" marriage to a "Buninnyilde Simard in 1892. (I think that first name will be found to be in error.) Gives "Malvina's age at the time of marriage as 22 yrs of age. Gives her occupation as "shirt-maker." Indicates she was born in Montreal, Canada. Gives her parent's name, (though it typically butchers her mother's maiden name).[1]
CENSUS':
The 1870 US Census of Leominster, Worcester, Massachusetts, enumerated in July of 1870, finds this Melvina at the age of 5-months old and given as born in Canada. Has a notation "Dec." which seems to suggest December. She is living there in Leominster with her 32yr old father, David Marquis, her 23yr old mother, given as "Yerdy" and two older siblings; 4yr old Theodore and 2yr old Joseph.[2]
1880 US Census of Leominster, Worcester, Massachusetts finds this person given as "Melvinia" and born in Canada. She is living there in Leominster, with her 43yr old father, David Marquis, her 33yr old mother, given as "Yerdy" and four of her siblings; 14yr old Theodore, 12yr old Joseph, 4yr old "Manda" and 2yr old Cora.[3]
DEATH:
The record of Malvina's death. Has her mother's maiden name wrong. Her husband is using the first name "Mitchell." Says she died at age 38yrs, 1-month and 20-days. By that, we extrapolate a possible birth date of December 6, 1870; but will continue searching for verification.[4]
