DEATH IN MARRIOTT FAMILY

End at Nerix, Kentucky for Sister Silvera of the Loretto Order

The Marriott children (brother and sisters) residing just south of Pleasant Hill, received a message, Sunday, announcing the death of their aunt, Sister Silveria, a member of the Catholic sisterhood, Order of Loretto, at the mother house, Nerinx, Ky., that day.

Sister Silveria, about 75 years old, had been a member of the order noted since when was 16 and had devoted 59 years of her life to teaching in various schools maintained by Loretto. Feeble for some years, she became definitely ill last January and was transferred to the mother house from St. Patrick's School, East St. Louis, Ill.

She was born in Hardin County, Ky., and resided there until she took the vows of Loretto, marking the beginning of a long, noble and sainted service in the cause of education and religion. Sister Silveria occasionally had visited here in the home of her brother, the late P. H. Marriott. Her last trip was about three days prior to Mr. Marriott's death on June 24, 1932

Two brothers and one sister survive Sister Silveria. They are Jos. W. Marriott, Norman, Okla., James O. Marriott and Mrs. Cynthia Rhodes, Glendale, Ky.

At the time of this last visit to Pleasant Hill, Sister Silveria was already much enfeebled and was too weak to remain longer than she did at the bedside of her dying brother. In departing she gave him her blessing and went away, knowing almost to a certainty, that they would meet no more in this life, but upheld in the Christian's hope of a final reunion in the Great Beyond.
