WM. LACKEY was born in Prebble [sic] county, Ohio, November 22d, 1818, and died in Harrisburg Township, Van Buren County, Iowa - January 15, 1892.

His parents emigrated to Indiana when he was nine years old and he came to Van Buren County about the year 1840 where he was married to CAROLINE MARRIOTT, who, with two sons and two daughters and twelve grandchildren still survive him. He lived an upright, and the noblest work of God, an honest man. Funeral services at Vernon M. E. church January 16th.

Mrs. CAROLINE LACKEY, who made her home with her daughter northeast of Bonaparte, died on Monday of this week, aged about 70. Funeral services were held from the home on Wednesday, the burial being in the Bonaparte Cemetery. She was an aunt to Henry Marriott, city, her maiden name being Marriott.

1. As evidenced on the U.S. Federal Census 1910 – Categorical Data for Caroline shows at that time – she was already 78 years old.
2. Most of the burials at Bonaparte Cemetery have been transcribed to either the Van Buren County, Iowa – Cemeteries site, or to Find A Grave. Scrutiny of both sites failed to identify a burial for Caroline Lackey nee Marriot. jlph
