  • She is widowed and living with her parents' at the time of the 1900 Census. She states that she is the mother of 5 living children. They are not included in this census listing. She is enumerated with her maiden name.[1]
  • Her death record gives her middle name as Ellen, which explains why William and Ellen's daughter "Ellen" was listed in the 1860 Census but not in the 1870 Census.[2]

Marriott-1277 and Marriott-962 appear to represent the same person because: Sophia is listed by her middle name in the 1870 Census, and the birth year given is off by a few years. Based on her name on her death record -- Sophia Ellen Christensen -- it appears that they are the same person and should be merged.
