Biography

Lavinia Marrs was probably born about 1861 at Drumrankin, Craigs, County Antrim, Ireland. She was the daughter of William Marrs.

Lavinia married Robert Kernohan on 17 Sep 1881 at 2nd Ahoghill Presbyterian Church, County Antrim[1]. They had 12 children: Margaret Kernohan (b. 1882), William Kernohan (1883–1884), Robert Kernohan (b. 1885), William Kernohan (b. 1887), Mary Elizabeth Kernohan (b. 1889), Isabella Kernohan (b. 1891), Jane Kernohan (b. 1893), Agnes Kernohan (1895–1895), Alexander Kernohan (b. 1896), Agnes Kernohan (b. 1898), David Kernohan (b. 1900), Lavina Kernohan (b. 1905).

In the 1901 Ireland census, Lavinia was age 39 living at Cullybackey, Co. Antrim with her husband Robert Kernohan (39), sons Robert Kernohan (16), William Kernohan (14), Alexander Kernohan (4), David Kernohan (0), daughters Lizzie Kernohan (12), Bella Kernohan (10), Jeanie Kernohan (8), Agnes Kernohan (2)[2].

In the 1911 Ireland census, Lavina was age 49 living at Cullybackey Town, Co. Antrim with her husband Robert Kernohan (50), sons William Kernohan (24), Alexander Kernohan (14), David Kernohan (10), daughters Lizzie Kernohan (22), Isabella Kernohan (20), Jane Kernohan (18), Agnes Kernohan (12), Lavina Kernohan (6). They had been married 30 years and had 12 children 10 living[3].

Lavinia died in 1929 age 61? at Cullybackey[4] and was buried at Cullybackey Reformed Presbyterian Cemetery[5].
