Joan: John Marsden and Phoebe Briggs were married about 1821 in Over Darwen Lower Chapel Independent, Blackburn and had the children as described by Hartley.. This John Marsden was born 30 January 1786 and christened 28 February 1786 in Over Darwen, the son of John Marsden and Mary Harwood [married in Over Darwen 21 October 1777]. There are a huge number of John Marsden's to contend with in this particular parish area. Of the John Marsden married to Mary Harwood, there were 3 different individuals christened in Over Darwen in 1754; 2 different in 1755 and one in 1756. Mary Harwood christened in Over Darwen 16 December 1760, the daughter of Ralph and Margaret Harwood.
