Robert Marsden was enumerated in 1891[3]. At that time he was a lead miner living with his widowed mother and his younger brother and sister.
In December of 1892, Robert married Annie Broadhurst Povey[4] in the Primitive Methodist Chapel.
In 1897, Robert and Annie with the twins Millicent and Henry and young Joseph and Annie still a babe in arms departed from Liverpool for Canada on the Mongolian[5]. They were on their way to become part of a Primitive Methodist intentional community at Pheasant Forks, Saskatchewan[6]. In the Passenger List, their destination is Indian Head, North West Territories (now Saskatchewan) which was their disembarkation point from the journey by rail.
Robert was enumerated at Pheasant Forks in 1901[7].
