She was enumerated age 15 with her parents and siblings^[1]

She married Joseph Marsden ^[2]

Alice Marsden passed away in 1895.

There is a bit of a puzzle regarding Alice's mother's name: the IGI says she is the daughter of Robert and Mary---however, there is no other evidence of that couple. Additionally, the censuses of 1841 and 1851 have Allis/Alice as the daughter of Robert and Sarah, but according to the IGI Robert and Sarah did not have an Alice, although the IGI lists all their other offspring.

It is clear by her father's occupations stated on the marriage certificate and the censuses that he is the right Robert Marsden.

Alice and Joseph named their first daughter Sarah.

An obvious question is whether Mary is the first wife, but this does not seem to be the case, as there are older children which the IGI says are Robert and Sarah's. Did Robert have three wives: Sarah, Mary, then another Sarah? No evidence of that in the marriage registers. Further research is needed--did the parish clerk mis-record Mrs. Marsden's name, or did the IGI transcriber make a mistake?
