The 80 Original Elizabethtown pioneer that colonized NJ included my 8th ggrandfather Samuel Marsh who married Comfort Mann and had 9 children. This was the only Marsh family in Union County, NJ up to and after the Rev. War. The Marsh's pioneered Rahway. John Marsh/ Elizabeth Clark had 800 acres on Rahway River and built first saw and grist mill. The next generation pioneered Westfield, Trenton, Scotch Plain and Perth Amboy.

I am sure that James Marsh was from this Marsh Line. During the Revolutionary War, there were over 36 Marsh men in the Militias and Continental Army.
