Elizabeth Marsh was born about 1757 in Barrowby, Lincolnshire, England.
Aged 19 on 5 March 1776, Elizabeth married James Dorr (age 31) in the parish church of her home parish of Barrowby.[1][2][3] The well-written signatures on the original parish register suggest that both Elizabeth and her new husband James were literate.
Elizabeth's husband James, twelve years her senior, died at the age of 53 on 17 Jul 1798, and was buried in the cemetery of All Saints Church in Barrowby.[4] She survived him by almost 37 years, dying on 20 Feb 1835 at the age of 77, and sharing a headstone with her husband.[5]
