Sarah (Sally) Marshall was born in 1787 in Virginia to parents Thomas Marshall and Sarah (Sally) Johnston. She married Rev. James (Jimmy) M Gilbert about 1805 in Lee, Virginia. Children: Nancy, Sarah, William M, John, James Beatty, Sarah, Joseph, David Johnson, Nancy, Thomas, Polly, Elizabeth L.
She died after 1850 in Hancock, Tennessee.
