Biography
Charles was born on 19 September 1810 at Newbury, Berkshire.[1] He is the son of John Marshall and Jane Hedges who married in November 1808 in Wallingford. He was baptised ("son of John and Jane Marshall)" on 10 May 1812, at St Peter's church, Wallingford Berkshire, at the same time as his younger brother William.[2] It is known that when his father married, he was described as of Newbury, but then lived in Wallingford thereafter.
