Harry was the youngest son of David Marshall, farmer of Brookside, Canterbury, and Jane Law. He married before March 4 1927 at Weedons Methodist Church, Selwyn, to Elizabeth Ann Thompson of Rolleston. They settled at Leeston with Harry working as a teamster at Sandy Knolls and later as a (horse?) trainer at New Brighton. In the 1940's Harry and Elizabeth moved to Racecourse Road in Upper Riccarton. Harry made his income as a grain and produce merchant. Harry Marshall died in 1962 age 60 and is buried at Waimairi Cemetery, Christchurch
