Arthur Marshall migrated from England to United States of America.
Arthur U Marshall was the youngest son of Mr and Mrs John Marshall. He was born 11 February 1867 in Market Weighton, Yorkshire, England.
He came to America with his parents at about the age of four. His parents settled in Weeping Water, Nebraska. Once he reached manhood he was engaged in the shore business with his father and a brother for about thirty-five years.
He married Olive Viola Ralston 19 May 1887 at the Thorpe Hotel in Nebraska City, Nebraska. Afterward they made their home in Weeping Water and then later a farm south of Eustis, Nebraska. The family finally moved to Cozad where the couple resided until their deaths.
The couple had five children: Ruth (Marshall) Brownfield, Dr. Lloyd A. Marshall, A. Ivan Marshall, Paul Marshall and Robert Marshall.
A. O. engaged in the plumbing and shoe business since moving to Cozad.
Arthur had an active political life. He served three terms as the Mayor of Cozad and served as a councilman at Weeping Water for eight years, and also served as President of the Council.
May 1937 the couple celebrated their golden wedding anniversary.
The familysearch.org "Nebraska Marriages, 1855-1995" database shows "Arthur U Marshall" and "Allie V. Ralston" - this appears to be a transcription mistake, bride's proper name was Olive Viola Ralston. Olive's obituary states they were married in Nebraska City, Nebraska which is located in Otoe County.
