William Bud Marshall, known as "Bud" and also listed as "Mac" in some records, was born March 10, 1868 in Quaker Gap, Stokes County, North Carolina to William "Mack" Marshall and Charity Boyles Marshall. He lived in the Yadkin township around of 1900, and back in Quaker Gap for the rest of his life. He married Fannie Louisa Thore, and they had 15 children together (1889-1910). Fannie died in 1915, and by 1920, he married his daughter's (Rosa's) mother-in-law Mary Alice Bennett. He passed away on February 7, 1937 due to dropsy and cardiac insufficiency and was buried in Quaker Gap.
