Euphemia (Martin) Baird was born in Scotland.

Euphemia Martin was born on December 8, 1874 in North Bute, Bute, Scotland, United Kingdom, daughter of Bryce Martin (1842–1924) and Agnes Stevenson (1853–1885).^[1][2]

Euphemia's father, Bryce,^[3] was a farmer in Glecknabae, Kingarth, Bute.^[4] Her mother Agnes^[5] was caring for an older sister Helen Martin (1873-) (6)^[6], Euphemia (5), as well as two younger children James Martin (1875-)^[7] (4) and Agnes Martin (1878-)^[8] (3).

According to the the 1891 Census returns, Euphemia was 15^[9] and there were now an additional three younger children in the family: Fanny Martin (1879-) (11)^[10], Jessie Stevenson Martin (1881-) (9)^[11] and Bryce Martin (1889-) (2)^[12].

Euphemia married Andrew Baird (born on July 22, 1861 in Sandhead, Wigtownshire, Scotland) at the Glecknabae Farm in Bute in 1897.^[13] According to census records Euphemia and Andrew had five children
