While doing some housekeeping, I ran across your profile and noticed you have not been active for a number of years. Are you still interested in participating on WikiTree? Please refer to WikiTree’s Collaboration and Honor Code pages. Please respond in 7 days, otherwise, I will follow the procedures for Unresponsive Profile Managers.

Thank you for your past contributions.

Hi ,

Now that you have had a little time to try WikiTree, there are a few more features you may find useful.

Ideas on what to include in a profile can be found in Styles and Standards, including some tips on writing biographies.

If you need to describe an event, an heirloom or a location relevant to your research, you may like to learn about Free Space Profiles.

Lastly, sometimes you'll run into unresponsive profile managers. We have a process for resolving those unfortunate situations.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask via my profile page.

Hi Alan,

Welcome to WikiTree!

I notice you're adding a new line of Martin's to the World-Wide-Tree, Thank You!

I just wanted to take a moment to point out one of our Key aspects of WikiTree. I can't stress enough how important it is that every member make note of their Sources for every fact presented in a profile for our ancestors. Being a collaborative World-Wide-Tree means that multiple people will be related to the same common ancestors. Because of this fact, good Sources are the only thing preventing contentions between cousins who connect back to the same person in their family history. How do we resolve a he said/she said disagreement without being able to say "according to xyz record found at pqr this is true". Please take a moment to go back and add some notes to each profile you have worked on. Let me or one of the Mentors know if you have any questions.

Thanks again!

Hello,

Thank you for signing the Honor code. Collaboration, accurate information and good sources are the basis for a great WikiTree.

By signing the Honor Code you're telling others you are a responsible Wiki genealogist.

Feel free to ask me via my profile page if you have any questions.

Have a nice journey on Wikitree,

Guy - Wikitree Mentor / Leader

Hi Alan,

Just a quick PS

Don't forget to Head over to the G2G forum. and take a minute to introduce yourself in the Tree House or ask a question in any of the other categories. There's also a brickwall tag in the G2G forum: for that "special" ancestor who is eluding you.

if you have pre-1700's ancestors to add please read our Pre-1700 profiles info.

Best Wishes, and have fun adding your leaves and branches!

You are now a member of the WikiTree Community! Please remember that we are trying to build one Collaborative Global Family Tree which means only one profile per person. It is important to ensure that no duplicates are created and profiles are properly sourced.

To help you get started, check out an introductory WikiTree video that a member created. For member benefits, see our Community Members page.

We also have a Mentor Team who will be glad to answer questions and help you with any specific problems.

Welcome and Enjoy!

I see you have, or plan to upload a GEDCOM. Here are a few quick links that you will find useful, and answer a lot of your questions:

step-by-step of the process including screenshots.

'Before you import a GEDCOM'.

Please keep in mind that our vision is to build a collaborative tree with just one profile per person, so please make sure to look for duplicates on WikiTree before adding a profile. Thank you for taking the time to go through your gedmatches.

Hi Alan,

Welcome! As a guest you are encouraged to explore. Please take time to read our Honor Code, it's what makes us a special community. The G2G forum will answer a lot of your questions, as well as the Find and Help Menus (upper right). Our goal is to have one profile per person that is properly sourced. WikiTree is a collaborative site for people of all experience levels. Please take your time and check us out. If you would like to join us, please check the Volunteer Box, and leave us a message, here on your Profile page, to that effect. We would love to have you!

Have Fun!
