There is a memorial in latin in Gotham Church. Here is a translation.

"Samuel Martin M.A." Formerly Fellow of Oriel College in the University of Oxford. Likewise the very celebrated Master of the very flourishing school at Appleby, Leicestershire. Who died on Christmas Day, 1775 in the 75th year of his age. Of this Church the diligent Rector for 29 years. Formerly Rector of Newton Regis in Warwickshire.. But being more than content with the moderate emolument of the one. Though for public and not in unseemly fashion lavish of private advantage. (Believe it O Posterity!) he willingly resigned the other. Recognise O Reader, the eminent piety of the man. And his highly reputable character, And no slight proficiency Both in sacred and humane letters, but dwell above all on this singular subject of praise Counting it for certain. Bit in proportion to his moderation In accumulating earthly riches, It is the splendour of the crown Which by Christ's grace, He will obtain in the heaves.

Underneath the inscription are the Arms.
