Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Mansfield Funeral home for Wm. Martin, whose death occurred in a Clarinda hospital April 19. The Rev. G.F. MacLean of the Presbyterian Church here had charge of the services. Music was furnished by Mrs. F.R. Chantry, accompanied by Mrs. J.E. Ellison. Pallbearers were V.A. and Charles Summers, Orville Weak, Gerald Wilcox, Ernest Baldozier and Oscar Baldozier. William A. Martin was born March 21, 1858 near Brazil, Ind. He came to Mills County in 1889 and during this year was united in marriage to Angeline Kelly at Council Bluffs. To this union were born five sons and four daughters. His wife preceeded him in death April 4, 1934. Three sons, also preceded him in death, Frank in 1920, Ralph in 1934 and Charlie in 1937. He leaves behind to mourn his passing two sons, Clarence of Malvern, Fred of Freewater, Ore.; and four daughters, Mrs. J.L. Springer, Red Oak, Mrs V.J. Barrett, Freewater, Ore.; Mrs. W. H. Marshall, Gold Bar washington, and Mrs. Floyd Ellis, Upton, Wyo.
