Biography

Thomas was born in 1826, in Buchanan, Virginia. He was the son of Thomas P Martin and Mary Briscoe Bryan.

On 2 Aug 1859, in Nelson, Virginia, he married Cornelia Mayo Cabell. They had 11 known children.

They had initially settled in Nelson, but by the mid-1860s had moved to Davidson, Tennessee, then back to Virginia, in Clarke by the mid-1870s and finally back to Davidson by the late 1870s.

After Cornelia died in 1883, he lived with daughter Eliza and her family.

He passed away in 1904. He is buried at the Mount Olivet Cemetery.
