Alphie Martin was a son of Maxime Martin and Adelaide Doucet. He was sometimes referred to as Maxime Alphie or just as Maxime like his father.

Alphie Martin was born in December of 1845, and was baptized the following day on Dec. 29, 1845 at the St. Augustin Roman Catholic Church in South Rustico^[1]

1869 - May - 10 Maxime Alphee Martin married Marie Anne Dermedy at the Parish of Ste-Anne in Restigouche, after the publication of 3 bans. Mary Anne Darmedy was a minor at the time of the nuptuals, consent to her marriage was given by her guardian Alexander Pitre. Alphee has an estimated birth year of 1845. Alphee is age 26 with birth place as "F.e.i." (assume this is transcription error for P.E.I.) wife Marie Anne Dermedy is age 20 and listed as born @ N.F..^[4]

• 30 April 1878- Marriage of Alphee Martin and Veronique Pitre. Alphee Martin is a resident of St-Alexis-de Matapedia, and widower of Marie Anne Dermedy at the time of his marriage to Veronique Pitre. Alphee Martins' father-Maxime is listed as his father on the register, with his mother not mentioned. Consanguinity is also mentioned for this marriage (meaning this couple is related)^[5]

• 17 Jan 1888- Alphee Martin married Marguerite Doiron the daughter of Pacifique Doiron and Marguerite Gallant. Alphee is listed on the marriage register as the son of Maxime Martin (no mother listed again) and also as the widower of deceased Veronique Pitre. Consanguinity is also listed for the couple (meaning -related). Alphee's place of residence at this time isn't mentioned, but that of his new wife Marguerite Doiron and her parents, are. Within the marraige register Marguerite Doiron and her parents are all residents of St-Alexis-de-Matapedia at the time of her marraige to Alphee Martin. Alphee and his previous wife Veronique Pitre were also married at St. Alexis-de-Matapedia, most likely after the "passing" of Veronique, most likely Alphee Martin did remain in St. Alexis.^[6][7]

M.Alphee Martin is the head of the household-"Chef" in 1911 on the Census record.. He and his family are living in Bonaventure, Quebec, Canada. Alphee is age 65 and his wife-Marguerite Martin is age 46. The Children in the home at this time are;

1. Emile Martin-son- age-17 (are Emile Martin and brother Frederic Martin twins?)
2. Alice Martin- dau- age-15

• Note- The Census of 1911 states "Dec. 1845". The Census's also seem to have conflicting (typo-error- "F" should be "P"?) information on place of birth. F.e.i., most likely is actually P.e.i. (Prince Edward Island).
