Biography

Job was born about 1788. He is the son of William Martin and Elizabeth Cannaday. Job married : Mar. 27, 1809; Job Martin & Mary Turner; James Turner, Surety; Married by John Ayers, March 30, 1809. http://www.vagenweb.org/bedford/bedf-m_m.htm

It appearing to the satisfaction of the court that the defendants Job & Jonathan Martin are not inhabitants of this country an order of publication is awarded against them then returnable to August Ct.

Nov Ct 1818, Bedford Co VA OB 17, 540, Martin v Martin, Chy

This day this cause came on to be heard on the bill answer and it appearing to the satisfaction of the ct that the order of publication in this cause made have been duly executed. Whereupon it is ordered that the defendants do convey to the pltf(?s) the Land in the bill mentioned with special warranty and that John Ayres be appointed commissioner to make a conveyance accordingly.

28 June 1819. Ordered that John Ashwell, Jenkin Otey, & John Headen be apptd comrs to settle the acc curr of the estate of William Martin dec with the admrs & divide the proceeds thereof amongst his legatees & report to ct. Bedford Co VA ob 17, 635
