Biography

Alfred Peter Martin, son of John and Matilda (Kentfield) Martin, was born on 18 May 1875 in Iowa.[1][2] He appeared on the census of 23 June 1880 in the home of his parents at Monroe Township, Mahaska County, Iowa.[3]

He married Nellie Anne Minard, daughter of William and Sarah (Vaughan) Minard, on 1 July 1895 at Sigourney, Keokuk County, Iowa.[1]

He was a farmer when he and Nellie appeared on the census of 26 June 1900 at White Oak Township, Mahaska County, Iowa.[4]

Peter died on 11 June 1909 probably at Mahaska County, Iowa and was buried at Highland Cemetery, Eddyville, Mahaska County, Iowa. His memorial has a photo of his headstone.[2]
