Aaron Martin was born on January 6, 1808, in Mercer, Kentucky, his father, James Martin and his mother, Frances Bellesfelt. He married Mary (Polly) Alvis on April 27, 1837, in Washington, Indiana. He died on April 20, 1881, in Indiana and was buried in Martinsburg Cemetery, Martinsburg, Washington County, Indiana.
