Biography

Mary (Martin) Trevena lived in Appalachia, in Tennessee.

Mary Ann Martin was born on April 26, 1833 in England. Her father was George Martin.

She married John Henry Trevena on November 12, 1853 in Redruth, Cornwall, England. The young couple left England shortly after their marriage for a new life in Tennessee in the United States of America where John was contracted to work in the copper mines at Ducktown, Tennessee. Together they had 13 children:

  3. Eliza Caroline Trevena
  4. Martha Ellen Trevena
  5. William Ivie Trevena
  6. George Walter Trevena
  7. Thomas Martin Trevena
  8. John Henry Trevena

  11. Susan Amelia Trevena
  12. Sarah Havaland Trevena
  13. Un-named Infant Boy Trevena

She died on August 12, 1913 in Sevier County, Tennessee, United States and is buried in the Middle Creek United Methodist Church Cemetery.
