Biography

According to the Visitation of 1620 William was the 1st son of Nicholas and Mary, born in 1562 (birth 19th September, baptised 20th at St Petrock's).

He married twice and appears to have had 4 children from his first marriage with Susan. Details can be found in the Visitation.

After she died in 1606 he remarried according to the Visitation, to Jane Huishe of Sands, Sidbury. However no details are provided, and no marriage record found, although the Huishe family still own the estate so it could be investigated further both by contacting the famly and going through William's will.

He was Recorder of Exeter (and possibly held other offices, needs investigating).

Died 7th, buried 12th April 1617, at St Petrock's Exeter. He left a will, proved at Canterbury so it should have survived, which needs investigating.
