Biography

William Waddell Martin, son of Abraham Martin (1808-1845) and Rebecca Waddell (1810-1858), was born in Anderson County, South Carolina in 1829.[1] He was the oldest of six children:

Francis Marion (b. 1834)
Marion Alexander (1834-1903)
Andrew Franklin (1838-1916)
James T (1818-1903)
Martha Ann (1810-1910)

He married Sarah Mills when she was 15.[2] They began farming in Pickens, whey there began their family:

William died in 1896 and is buried at Secona Baptist Church Cemetery in Pickens, South Carolina.[3]
