Biography

Charles was born in 1854. He passed away on 12 Sep 1932. His parents were Powhatan Martin and Ann White. ^[1]

Charles is on the 1860 Virginia Census for Giles Co. (image 63 of 156) as the son of Powhatan Martin and Eliza (aka Ann) and as being 6 years old at the time. ^[2]

Charles married Mary Jane Wickline on 16 Jun 1875 in Giles Co., Virginia, the same county where they were both born. Charles was 21 years old and Mary Jane was only 16 years old. Charles's parents are listed as P. and E.A. Martin, which are the initials for Powhatan and Eliza Ann (White) Martin. Mary Jane's parents are listed as J & M. Wickline, which are the initials for Jonathan and Martha (White) Wickline.^[3] Mary Jane White and Martha Jane White were sisters.
