Biography

Private George Martin served in the United States Army in World War I
Service started: 23 June 1918
Unit(s): 55th Infantry, Company H; 7th Division
Service ended: 27 June 1919

George was born in 1890 and was the son of Ocenia DeVall and Hearman Marten. He was a private in the US Army in World War I.[1] After the war, he lived with his parents and worked on the farm.

By 1936 he had married Ethel Cox and had at least one child. When he registered for the draft in World War II, he was working for the Monarch Elevator Co. in Breckenridge, Minnesota. He was 5' 8" with brown hair and brown eyes. He passed away in 1974 and is buried at Fairview Cemetery in Wahpeton, North Dakota.
