MRS. CLYDE COPLEY (1897-1956)
Mrs. Cora I. Copley, 59, of Newark, a native of Minford, died at 3 a.m. Monday at Newark Hospital.
She had resided in Newark since moving from Minford 12 years ago. Born June 4, 1897, she was a daughter of the late Sanford and Nancy Powell Martin.
Surviving Mrs. Copley, in addition to her husband, Clyde, are seven daughters, Mrs. Cora Belle Brown of Thornville, Mrs. Lucille Porter and Mrs. Martha Stapleton, both of Newark, Mrs. Charlotte Kerr of Mount Vernon, and Janice, Wanda and Phyllis Copley, all at home; three sons, George of Camp Bennett community and Charles and Robert, both of San Francisco; and a sister, Mrs. Martha Powell of Minford.
Besides her parents, she was preceded by a son, two daughters, five brothers and two sisters.
Mrs. Copley was a member of Mead Pentecostal Church, where services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday by Rev. Dale Dawson. Burial will be in Vernon Cemetery. Friends may call at the residence of George Copley after 4 p.m. Wednesday. Gill Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements for Mrs. Copley.
On July 22nd, 1916 Clyde Roy Copley, age 24, married Cora Isabel Martin, age 19, in Scioto, Ohio.
Clyde's parents are G. M. Copley and Laura Endicott. Cora's parents are S. S. Martin and Nancy J. Powell.
