But there is this record that is for a Thomas Martin with a mother named Margaret. This Thomas was the only one I found born in Indiana.

Comment posted c2011 suggests he was Thomas Jefferson Martin, but said Thomas was b. c 1880.
Tentative source (1870cen) was added 18 Aug 2021, but further discovery shows it belongs to Thomas Ross Martin b 1848, s/o Owen Martin.
There are no records located to show the connection to alleged parent William T Martin.
Of the many Thomas Martin's b. Indiana betw 1828-1832, only two with birth year c1830 appears in census records, one in Bean Blossom, Monroe (1860) and the other in Brookville Township, Franklin (1860). Neither have a William Martin in household or living nearby.
Alleged father married to one verified wife whom he married in 1837, seven (7) yrs after Thomas Martin's birth. Additionally, no records indicate the alleged father had the middle name Thomas or initial T. including his burial headstone.
No records were located for Thomas Martin born to William Martin in Indiana c1828-1832.
