Biography

Wilson Martin was born in 1814.

He married Mary Ann Peak 1 Nov 1837 in Caldwell, Kentucky [1]

This family was enumerated in the 1860 census [2]

Wilson Martin passed away in 1864. His and Mary Ann's graves are "marked" with a modern stone near a family member in Buffalo Springs Cemetery, Stanford, Lincoln County, Kentucky, USA: Find A Grave: Memorial #41627834 It is a contemporary marker placed by some descendent. However, Mary Ann's published 1897 obituary says she was laid to rest in the Campbell Cemetery. I believe Wilson & Mary Ann are in the Campbell Cemetery, not only because of the obituary, but because it was nearest to their farm where Wilson was killed, and because their oldest son JT Martin is buried there. There are several unmarked graves in the old part of the cemetery which I visited in 2005; There is no marker for Wilson or Mary Ann.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Wilson by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Wilson:
