Biography

Celestino Martinez, also known as Celestino E Martinez, Celestino Escobedo Martinez, and Cele, was born to Joaquin Martinez and Maria Escobedo, on 28 May 1923.

The 1940 United States Census cited Celestino Martinez as the son of Juaquin (Joaquin) Martinez, head of household. He was 15 years old and born in Texas. Event Date: 25 April 1940. Event Place: Justice Precinct 2, Wilson County, Texas.

He married Victoria Tejeda, the daughter of Jesus G Tejeda and Genoveva Tejeda. From this union, they had the following children:

  • Celestino Escobedo Martinez, Jr.
  • Anita Martinez.
  • Alfredo Martinez.
  • Alberto Martinez.
  • Rudy Martinez.
  • Joaquin Martinez.
  • Bertha Martinez.
  • Linda Martinez.

Cele passed away on 15 May 1996 in Bexar County, Texas. He was 72 years old and married. He is buried at Picosa-Martinez Cemetery #2, Floresville, Wilson County, Texas.
