She was born on March 11, 1936 in Belize City, Belize to Rose Edith Batty and Ignacio J. Martinez. She married Charles W. Stott on January 21, 1956 in Huntington, West Virginia. They had four sons and lived in Indiana and New Jersey before moving to Diamondhead, Mississippi in 1994 and to Mandeville, Louisiana in 2015.
