Canora Courier October 20, 2004 Page 16 - MARTINSON: Funeral service for Ida Elizabeth Martinson, 91, of The Pas, and formerly of Kuroki, who died Sept. 26 at St. Paul’s Personal Care Home in The Pas, was held Sept. 30 in The Pas with James Hemauer officiating. Burial was in Lakeside Cemetery with Hemauer Funeral Home in care of arrangements. Born on July 11, 1913, in Mortlach, Sask. To George and Rebecca (McCann) Pengelly, she moved with her family to the Kuroki area in 1919, where she attended Patten School. She married Corey Martinson on Feb. 3, 1933, in Rose Valley. They moved to Cold Lake, Man., in the early 1950s and then to Wanless, Man., in 1955. She moved to Kuroki with Peter Stafford and when he died, she moved to The Pas. She became a resident of the personal care home in 2003. Predeceased by her husband, Corey, two sons, Kenneth and Gene in infancy; her parents, George and Rebecca, a sister, Pearl Rofle, and four brothers, Elmer, Clifford, Arthur and Albert, she is survived by three sons, Lyle (Mavis Fox), Donald (Ruth Gowing) and Norman (Judy Staner); a daughter, Karen; two sisters, Edith Herman and Ethel Rohne, and numerous grandchildren.
