Purple Heart Medal

Served in the United States Marine Corps, 4th Division, in World War II. Private Marvin was shot in the backside on 18 July 1944 during the Battle of Saipan and spent the next 18 months, the remainder of the war, recovering from a severed sciatic nerve in New York Navy hospitals until he was discharged in 1945.


Married Betty Ebeling, in February 1951, after they met in February 1950. 4 children, /divorced 5 January 1967
