Biography

Elisha was born about 1765 in North Carolina. He passed away before 1850 in Forsyth County, Georgia. He is listed on the 1840 census in Forsyth County, but has not been located in records after that date.

In 1840 Elisha is living in Forsyth County, Georgia. In his household are apparently his wife Joyce and an unknown female, maybe a daughter, age 20-30, born between 1810 and 1820.[1] Living next door is E. J. Mashburn, age 20-30, born between 1810 and 1820. This could be James Ervin Mashburn, his son.

Research Notes

I'm not super comfortable with this yet. All sites I've checked link Rebecca as the daughter of Elisha pretty clearly, however, the lack of consistency of data on Elisha leaves me holding off adding anything else. (6 Aug 2013)[3]

Rebecca is the daughter of Elisha, her mother, however, is unknown. The Sullivan-Mashburn Reunion in Blairsville is still going on - Edna Simpson documented this line very well in the 1960's and 70s in her book The Mashburn Family of North Carolina and Georgia available at the Georgia Archives and many libraries.
