↑ James T. Mashburn and Rhoda E. Teague made their home together in 1899, at the of 20. They lived on a farm south of Protem, Missouri (One store and one mill). First home was a one room log house. Later a second rooms was added. They farmed and traded for goods. 1901 was a hard year do to a drought. In 1906 they moved to western Oklahoma (Shawnee area) where Rhoda’s parents William and Caroline (Bennet) Teague lived. Her Maternal Grandmother Dorcus Ann (Blackwell) Bennett McAffe was living there too. Some of the men were working in the mines. In 1907 Oklahoma became a state. James Thomas Masburn family moved his family to Ok. He found employment in the oil fields.
The family returned to Missouri most likely to farm. Returning to OK and settling down.
