Naphtali was born in Wayne, Maine 17 Oct 1787, the son of Ebenezer Mason, Jr and Susanna Churchill. He married Mary "Molly" Jepson in Leeds on 11 Feb 1810. They had three known children, all born in Leeds, Maine:
Sarah "Sally" J Mason b. 25 Oct 1810, d. 9 Apr 1884. She married Ezra Fish in 1829.;
Albert Mason b. 9 Feb 1811;
Thomas J Mason b. 8 Nov 1813, d. 5 Sep 1901.
He was a fifer in the War of 1812, serving in Lt. Levi Foss's Co. and in Capt. Stillman Howard's Co 2nd Mass Militia, in Lt. Col. W.R. Blaisdell's REGT.
He is buried at Lothrop cemetery, Leeds, Maine, also known as the Fish Cemetery. His military stone was ordered for the "Lothrop Cemetery".
