Biography

Sally was born in 1810. [1] Her given name was Sarah, yet many documents show her name as Sally, a nickname of the time for Sarah.

She was the daughter of Nephtali Mason and Mary Jepson.

She married Ezra W Fish in 1829.[2] They were the parents of nine known children.

The 1850 census shows the family living in Exeter, in Penobscot County, Maine where Ezra is a farmer. By 1860, the family has moved tp nearby Holden, Maine where Ezra is a farmer. The 1870 census shows Ezra age 65 and Sarah age 61 living in Holden with daughter Lauriett their youngest child, age 19, living with them. Ezra "works on farm" according to the occupation listed. Their daughter Sylvia married to Walter Downes lives next door to them and son William, a blacksmith, lives next door to Sylvia.

The 1880 census shows Ezra, age 76, and Sarah, age 72, living with William, working as a blacksmith, in Bangor, Maine on Elm Street. Ezra is retired as the report states "no occupation" for both he and Sarah.

She passed away in 1884. The Nathan Hale Cemetery records for her son William show that Ezra and Sarah both died in Bangor and are listed on his plot record for Mount Hope Cemetery in Bangor.

Mason-9378 and Mason-13948 appear to represent the same person because: These are the same person. Yours didn't show as a match when I entered mine, most likely because I included her nickname of Sally that appears on many of the vital records. Please merge them. Thanks.
