Biography

Charles Kendall Mason, son of Calvin and Rebecca (Kendall) Mason, was born in Dublin, New Hampshire in 1830. ^[1]

He married on June 2, 1852 Adra E. Mason, daughter of Jeremiah and Sally (Fisk) Mason who was born in Sullivan January 26, 1832. ^[1]

On the 5th of September 1853, while working in the mill of Amos Perry in Harrisville, Charles was caught in a belt by his left arm which was torn off, making it necessary to amputate at the shoulder joint. ^[1]

He came to Marlborough, New Hampshire to reside in 1859. ^[1]

Charles was a U.S. Assistant Assessor for six years and held the office of Justice of the Peace since 1862. ^[1]

He had two children by his first wife and she died March 5, 1861. ^[1]

Charles remarried on November 27, 1862 to Mrs. Elizabeth H. (Andrews) Bassett daughter of Malachi and Elizabeth (Herrick) ANdrews of Gloucester. She was the widow of Rev. Warren Bassett. She was born Feb 5, 1838. ^[1]

Charles died 28 Mar 1912 in Sanford, Maine. ^[2]
