Stanley Purvis Mason was born on 19th August 1909 in Ipswich, Suffolk, England, United Kingdom. He was the son of Wilham Mason and Elizabeth unknown. [1]
He migrated to New South Wales, Australia before 1941.
On 12th May 1941, aged 31 years, at Victoria Barracks, Paddington, New South Wales, Stanley enlisted in the Australian Army (Militia) for service in Australia during the ominously-building Second World War. His mother was listed as next-of-kin. He was posted to the 16th Garrison Battalion. He discharged on 28th October that year. [2] The following day, 29th October, he enlisted in (technically transferred to) the full-time Second Australian Imperial Force (Australia's overseas military expeditionary force) with his father listed as next-of-kin. Posted to Ship's Staff, he was discharged on 20th April 1942. [3]
Stanley married divorcee, Evelyn Senior nee Grant in 1944 at Randwick, New South Wales. [4]
He passed away in 1979 in New South Wales. [5]
