Biography
Private William Mason was Killed in Action during World War I.
1911, resident in Carmarthen, Wales.
William Mason, Private, 17180, Leicestershire Regiment.
William was the son of Tom and Elizabeth Ann Mason (born Smith), of 66 Cranbourne Street, Belgrave, Leicester, England. He lived at 46 Railway Terrace, Tumble, Carmarthen with his brother Thomas and family before the war.
He enlisted in the army at Llanelli. On 25 May 1915 William joined the 2nd Battalion, Leicestershire Regiment, which was attached to Garhwal Brigade, 7th (Meerut) Division, posted to France.
