Birth: 1850 Death: Oct. 7, 1933
John's biological father is actually Isaac Mason Sanborn. Elizabeth married him 11 FEB 1850. Elizabeth divorced Isaac in 1853 and then married James later that year. James subsequently adopted John soon after.
I have an affidavit stating the above fact, courtesy of my cousin Donella. :)
