In the 1840 Census of Porter County, Indiana he is listed unnamed under Males between 0 and 5 years of age in the household of his father Joseph Massey. [1]
Some time between 1840 and 1847, the baby's mother Adaline Sanford Massey "just picked up and went west with a boy child". [2] Baby Boy Massey was never heard from again after his mother left, taking him from his father's home. Nothing more is known about him.
