Biography

When Eliza Ann "Annie" Massey was born on March 20, 1822, in Anderson, South Carolina, her father, Laban, was 45, and her mother, Esther, was 30. She married twice, first to John M. McCoy (1818-1845), they had at least three children:

• Margaret J. McCoy (c.1839–1902)
• Martha L. McCoy (c.1841–1902)
• Nancy E. McCoy (1842–aft.1880)

She was widowed in 1845 and remarried to her brother-in-law, Ephriam Vincent McCoy (1818-1865), before 1850. She died on October 10, 1893, in her hometown at the age of 71, and was buried there.^[1]
