Biography
Winnifred (Win) Massey was born in 1907. She was the eldest child of Thomas Massey, a newsagent shopkeeper, and Louisa Lane.
She is recorded in the 1911 census with her family. [1]
Win married Alec Baxter in June 1940. [2][3]
Alec had been a steward on the Queen Mary, and later was a travelling salesman for the Co-Op Society.
They did not have children.
Win worked at Gorringes, the school shop for Harrow Boys’ School, mainly taking care of the mending and alterations.
