Gwen (21) married Arthur Alvin Rode (22) (born on 8 Jul 1923; son of John Rode and Alexandra (Daelick) Rode) on 4 Jun 1946 in Chippenham, Wiltshire, England. Their daughter was Dianne Shirley Rode (1949–2008).

Gwen died on 2 Feb 2010 in St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada, aged 85. She was buried in Victoria Lawn Cemetery, St. Catharines, Ontario.
