Geoffrey Massey was born in London, England in 1924[1] to Raymond Massey and Margery Fremantle. Geoffrey lived with his father following his parents' divorce and moved from England to America when Raymond Massey's career took him to Broadway.
Geoffrey enlisted in the armed forces in 1942 during World War II. He served for three years but was not deployed overseas.
He was educated at Harvard: B.A. and then a Masters in Architecture from the Graduate School of Design. Mr. Massey went to work in Vancouver, British Columbia early in his career and remained based there. He did some of his notable work with architect Arthur Erickson, including Simon Fraser University in Burnaby, B.C.
Mr. Massey was married to Ruth Killam in 1955. At his death at age 96, he was survived by one daughter, Eliza Massey Stanford, and three sons: Raymond, Vincent and Nathaniel. His family line will be carried on by 10 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Geoffrey Massey passed away in December of 2020, but the full page obituary in The Globe and Mail did not give an exact date. His date of death came from the funeral home obituary.[2][3]
